Over the years, safeguarding and respecting our planet has become a fiercely debated issue and one in which Dimar has decided to invest much of its resources and energy. And so it was born: the DIMAR GREEN PROJECT... SUSTAINABILITY, TRACEABILITY, GREEN LINE. Starting from raw material with LWG traceable origins and using alternative tanning has allowed us to create a selection of new articles, both split and grain, with specific eco-sustainable characteristics:
  • Chrome free*
  • Metal free*
  • use of synthesized chemical substances in the laboratory to make the leather non-toxic
* marginal presence in percentage that can be found in nature (below the limits: Metals < 1000 mg/kg; formaldehyde < 16 mg/kg)

In support of the project, we are involved in:
  • • investments in research and the use of latest-design chemical substances and solvents, thereby guaranteeing a decrease in harmful substances
  • • creation of a new solvent free finishing system
  • • transformation of production waste into organic fertiliser for agricultural use (certified “IMPACT ZERO”, ILSA)
  • • decrease in polluting emissions and consumption by installing class A systems and photovoltaic panels
  • • improvement of transport through better shipment organisation
  • • use of reusable packaging (cardboard boxes) with a drastic decrease in the use of plastic
